I’ve always loved that moment in a sushi bar when the chef places a perfect roll in front of you — neat, tight, and fresh. But one rainy weekend, I decided to see if I could pull it off at home. Turns out, it’s way easier than I thought… especially once I had my Yumart Sushi Kit on the counter.
Here’s the exact way I make my favorite salmon & avocado sushi roll with Yumart Sushi kit.
What I use:
- 150g Norwegian salmon
- 1 ripe organic avocado
- Sushi rice (I mix mine with sushi vinegar for that sushi-bar tang)
- 2 nori sheets
- A squeeze of mayonnaise (optional, for extra flavor and creaminess)
- And, of course, my trusty bamboo mat from the Yumart Sushi Kit
How I roll:
- First, I lay out everything — salmon sliced, avocado cut into strips, nori ready on the mat (smooth side down, fine lines up).
- I spread the rice in a thin, even layer, leaving about 1 cm free at the top.
- The fillings go right in the center: salmon first, then avocado. A gentle press keeps them in place.
- Rolling is my favorite part — the bamboo mat really does all the work, keeping the roll snug and even.
- Finally, I dip my knife from Sushi kit in water and cut the roll into bite-sized pieces, topping a few with mayo or sesame seeds for extra flavor.
My little tips:
Warm rice (about 30°C) is easier to work with and tastes better.
Avocado is classic, but low-fat cheese or tofu makes a great twist.
A dab of wasabi and a splash of soy sauce takes it to sushi heaven.
I used to think sushi was one of those things you had to eat out for. Now, whenever I get the craving, I just grab fresh salmon, an avocado, and pull out my Yumart Sushi kit — and in 20 minutes, I’ve got rolls that honestly rival the ones I’d pay triple for.
